The Mineral Musou Horizon emerged from 1.5 years of deliberate craftsmanship, drawing on the serene power of Dover's White Cliffs and the fortitude they symbolised throughout the Battle of Britain. This timepiece balances contrast, precision, and lasting presence.

At its heart sits a genuine white quartz stone face, prized for its delicate transparency and textural richness, mirroring the unpolished character of those iconic chalk formations. Surrounded by a gleaming metal bezel and positioned above a shadowy Musou Black foundation, the face recalls Dover's dramatic white expanse towering over murky sea, evoking the shoreline's appearance during wartime's darkest period.

References to the RAF's Battle of Britain instrument clock manifest through the spinning red, yellow, and blue calendar ring, a blue-ended hour hand, and a yellow-gold-plated marker positioned at 12 o'clock. Crafted in Britain by Horologium and fitted with a bespoke British leather band, the Mineral Musou Horizon showcases UK legacy via distinctive, confident aesthetics.

THE HISTORY AND

CLIFFS OF DOVER
THE HISTORY AND
BEAUTY OF THE WHITE
CLIFFS OF DOVER

The Mineral Musou Horizon is the result of 1.5 years of thoughtful design, inspired by the calm strength of the White Cliffs of Dover and the resilience they came to symbolise during the Battle of Britain. It's a watch defined by contrast, clarity, and enduring character.

Its centrepiece is a dial of natural white quartz stone, selected for its soft translucency and organic texture, echoing the raw beauty of the chalk cliffs. Framed by a polished metal ring and raised above a deep Musou Black base, the dial evokes the stark silhouette of Dover rising above dark waters, recalling the coastline in the tense hours of wartime.

The tributes to the RAF's Battle of Britain plotting clock appear in the red, yellow and blue rotating date wheel, the blue-tipped seconds hand and the yellow-gold-plated triangle at the 12 o'clock position. Assembled in the United Kingdom by Horologium and paired with a bespoke Italian leather strap, the Mineral Musou Horizon expresses British heritage through bold, decisive design.

DESIGN INSPIRATION
THE TRIANGLE
The Battle of Britain sector clock was an essential tool in RAF operations rooms, used to track enemy aircraft and coordinate responses. Its dial was divided into red, yellow and blue segments, each one marking five-minute intervals. As time passed, colour-coded markers on the plotting tables showed when and where aircraft had been spotted, helping commanders act with speed and precision. Elements of this system are echoed in the “ Horizon ” watch.

THE FLOATING MINERAL DIAL

Creating a layered dial while meeting our strict thin-case profile requirements posed an engineering challenge, given the fragility of natural quartz within our thickness tolerances (0.45mm). Yet after extensive material research, its soft translucency, delicate grain and organic texture proved to be the most elegant reflection of the White Cliffs of Dover.

Creating a layered dial while meeting our strict thin-case profile requirements posed an engineering challenge, given the fragile nature of natural quartz within our thickness tolerances (0.45mm). Yet after extensive material research, its soft translucency, delicate grain and organic texture proved to be the most elegant reflection of the White Cliffs of Dover. Set above a Musou Black base that absorbs 99.4% of visible light, the natural quartz appears to float, creating a dial that feels both grounded and weightless.

18K GOLD PLATED TRIANGLE

Plated in 18k gold at an exceptional 10 micron thickness, the triangle pays a fitting tribute to the Battle of Britain. Above it, the numeral “12” is painted in black, in a bespoke typeface inspired by the original watch and carefully refined for this design.

Horizon hands
THE HANDS

The hands are CNC machined, giving them three-dimensional depth. Their precise angles and mirror-polished bevelled edges catch the light strikingly. This interplay of polish and angle adds visual depth and refinement, heightening the presence of the dial on the wrist.

I love this watch! Last summer I was lucky enough to fly a Spitfire over the Cliffs of Dover — upside down, of course. I wear this watch with pride, in tribute to “The Few”. The superb finish and outstanding style always get people talking.
